Dyagba belongs to the Mamaya group of rhythms. In Guinea, Dyagba is generally danced by woman.

It’s very much played at the end of Ramadan and the Tabaski festival in Upper Guinea. Nowadays it can also be heard during other popular celebrations and danced also by man.

In some regions, this rhythm is called Dyagbe, and in Mali the name is Madan.
